When I worked with large brokerage firms in the 90s, I used to ask:
- Is all this necessary?
- The high dollar office space?
- The layers of management that needed to be supported?
- The cost of entertaining clients?
- Was there a better way?
In 2002, I was an early pioneer to telecommuting. Since that time, technological advances has made officing from home more efficient. My cost of doing business is low compared to the industry average. I pass that savings on to clients.
I offer a unique value proposition. I have two decades of experience in financial advice. But I charge less than most competitors. My low overhead also allows me to limit the amount of clients I serve. My partnership with LPL Financial gives me the security and resources of a large financial firm to handle client assets. They provide a lot of service, structure and compliance oversight for roughly 1/5 of revenues annually.
But the client experience is personal. They are dealing with me. I get to know what is important to them. This is a career that I love and plan on serving clients for as long as my mind and body will allow. I strive for value- wisdom and integrity at a reasonable cost.
